Research summary
The aim of the study is to test novel MRI pulse sequences that have been developed for investigation of regional lung functions with HP 129Xe gas (xenon). The preliminary data from volunteers will then be used to assess the sensitivity of these sequences to different lung diseases. As a parallel aim we will be measuring the subject's physiological response to 129Xe (xenon) inhalation and breath-hold during and after imaging.
