Research summary
The study aims to explore parents though and decision making about attending A&E instead of other primary care providers with their child under 5, who have subsequently been discharged requiring no treatment or follow up. This will involve a semi structured interview with parents/carers which will be audio recorded and then transcribed. A thematic analysis approach will be used to code and label the data and search for emerging themes. Themes will be mapped and conclusions may be drawn about parents/carers decision making process.
