Data collection arrangements
The WM-SDE will store health data which relates to health and care.
The WM-SDE will collect and securely store linked, de-identified health and care data from multiple health and care data providers, and provide transparent, ethically approved and public endorsed access to these data to improve patient and care service users outcomes and choices, and to build a more sustainable, effective and efficient NHS.
Research programme
The WM-SDE is supported by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, the six Integrated Care Boards in the West Midlands, the University of Birmingham and other regional and national acute care providers. Public and patient inout is provided by the Data Trust Committee, who review and support data access requests. The WM-SDE is funded by NHS England.
