Research summary
The proposed study aims to measure the effectiveness of VR-based mindfulness and relaxation for improving sleep, depression, anxiety, stress and professional quality of life (compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue, burnout, secondary traumatic stress, vicarious traumatization, and vicarious transformation) in National Health Service staff, whilst simultaneously measuring the effectiveness of attending an eight-week Mindfulness-Based Living Course. Based on the limitations of previous studies where staff were required to use VR headsets during their break, staff will be given a VR headset to use at home for eight weeks.
