Research summary
Following knee arthroscopy (key hole surgery) patients experience pain and swelling in their knee which affects their ability to return to normal. This study suggests comparing the effect of giving Viscoseal (viscosupplementation ) or Platelet Derived Growth Factor injections into the knee at the time of the surgery to see if this affects the amount of pain and swelling they experience post operatively.
Although both these substances are already licensed for this purpose their effects have not formally been compared after knee arthroscopy.REC name
