  It is unknown if the impact of diabetes on the severity of disease and outcomes from SARS-CoV2 infection relate to type of diabetes, acute or long-term glucose status, or exposure to glucose lowering therapies. We propose to prospectively assess glucose in people with diabetes admitted to hospital with suspected COVID-19 to identify predictors of severity and progression of disease; and in those admitted to the ICU to assess the impact of a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)-driven insulin titration regimen.
