Research summary
The purpose of this study is to develop a tool to measure how confident applied health researchers and applied health practitioners are in conducting research.
In order to measure self-confidence in research, we must develop and test the questionnaire we want to use. A questionnaire already exists to measure self-efficacy in research, but it was written in 1994, and many of the questions are no longer relevant. Plus, the questionnaire was only designed to be used in a university setting. There is no questionnaire that has been designed to measure research self confidence in health care practitioners. We have designed a new questionnaire that asks up-to-date questions that are relevant to health care practitioners. This study aims to check that the questionnaire works in applied health researchers and health care practitioners.
