Research summary
The main aim of this 4 week pilot study is to investigate whether treatment of different wound types with the study dressing with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) leads to an increased rate of healing compared with the use of a NPWT alone. The secondary aim is to compare the biochemistry of wound fluid taken from different wound types using the study dressing with NPWT that taken from using NPWT alone.
A total of 20 patients will be recruited, 10 will be randomised to each arm.
Patients will be followed for 4 weeks and will need to attend the research clinic three times a week.
