Research summary
This study aims to understand the challenges people have adhering to home rehabilitation programmes. This insight will be used to inform the design of a mobile application to help people with proximal phalanx fractures manage their home rehabilitation in the future.
People who have recently received rehabilitation following a proximal phalanx fracture will be invited to participate in a focus group to share their experiences and discuss any difficulties they had following the therapists/doctors recommendations. They will be asked views regarding the possibility of using a mobile app to aid rehabilitation at home and what content may be helpful. The app will not exist at this time.
Discussions will be audio recorded to accurately reflect on discussions and later transcribe and analyse data to identify common themes/difficulties/opinions to inform the design of the mobile application. The mobile application will be designed once all data collection is completed and analysis taken place.
