  • Research summary

This project will evaluate diagnostic tests for the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) causing the Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19) outbreak. We are proposing to use leftover serum samples from the Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL) and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Our research team is closely working with the Foundation of New Diagnostics (FIND) to complete comparative evaluations of rapid diagnostic tests (RDT) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) that detect human antibodies specific to SARS-CoV-2.
