Research summary
The project aims to understand how immune cells recognise and respond to tumours. This will help to develop cell therapies and vaccines for cancer. The project will use blood from anonymised healthy donors or cancer patients that is collected by commercial providers or surplus from blood donations. The immune cells will be cultured with short protein sequences (peptides) to explore which cells respond. The results will be used to infer how cells react to tumour peptides and how this can be predicted and optimised.
