Research summary
A qualitative project exploring the experiences of inpatient specialist eating disorder treatment in the context of autism spectrum condition, with the aim of identifying helpful strategies and possible improvements within the treatment pathway.
This would involve conducting semi-structured interviews with current and previous patients and carers of the Richardson Eating Disorder Service who have been identified as having traits of autism spectrum condition, or a diagnosis of autism.
Reflexive hematic analysis will be used to analyse the interview data, following Braun and Clarke’s (2013) guide. The process would involve data familiarisation, generating initial codes and identifying, review and defining themes.
