• Research summary

  Patients suffering with renal failure often have problems with calcium metabolism, especially secondary and tertiary hyperparathyroidism. While having a kidney transplant allows adequate renal function to eliminate wastes, patients often continue to have issues with calcium metabolism; the reasons for this are not well understood. In this pilot study, we will explore the underlying processes involved in calcium metabolism by gathering data from laboratory tests from patient samples, aiming to identify areas where the processess may be abnormal to direct future research.
