  • Research summary

The study aims to analyze the impact of patient characteristics and demographics on incidence, morbidity and survival in benign and malignant disease, using routinely collected data on hospital episodes statistics (HES). This data has been linked with Office of National Statistics (ONS) mortality statistics, in a pseudonymous fashion. (The data was requested from and authorised to be used by St Mark’s Hospital by the Health and Social Care Information Centre and Office of National Statistics.)

Our retrospective analysis of HES-ONS linked data aims to delineate risk factors and other variables which may improve patient experience and patient outcome.
