Depending on the individual research study requirements a wide range of tissues will include but not be restricted to:
Full-thickness skin surplus at therapeutic intervention
Normal and disease conditions plus blood and urine where required eg Crohn’s disease
Cancer and associated normal tissue eg Lung tissue at therapeutic intervention.
Tissues snap frozen and stored at -80°C
DNA, RNA subcellular or protein extracts at -80°C
Primary cell cultures in culture flasks containing culture medium eg keratinocytes
Primary cell suspension and cellular subfractions at -80°C eg hepatocytes and microsomes
Formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues stored at room temperature
    Associated data and data access:

  • Research programme

Envigo CRS conducts a wide range of research types across many fields of biomedicine. As a Contract Research Organisation it responds to the external Sponsors request for research into both animal and increasingly to confirm findings from animal studies in human tissue. Additionally, external Sponsors are requesting research studies in clinical tnal samples from human volunteers. The types of research that will be conducted include but will not be restricted to: In vitro drug metabolism pharmacokinetic studies; tissue-cross reactivity and immunohistochemical studies; toxicology studies; bio-analytical studies and microbiological studies.
