Research summary
The purpose of this study is to explore patients’ opinions on which outcomes are important to them when considering stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) as a treatment for breast cancer. SBRT is a precise form of radiotherapy which can be used to treat breast cancer. Presently, within the NHS, this can be used to treat breast cancer that has spread to a limited number of sites in the body as identified by scans – this is called oligometastatic breast cancer.
We are interested to know patients opinion on what would be important to them when considering SBRT as a treatment option. This will help the NHS decide how to offer SBRT in the future and will also help with the design of future research studies further investigating the use SBRT in breast cancer, to ensure the outcomes of importance to patients are included.
