Data collection arrangements
Kidney transplant recipients are identified by Consultant Nephrologists and Clinical Lead for Transplantation at Belfast City Hospital, at the time of transplantation. She is responsible for adding each recipient to the Northern Ireland Kidney Transplant Database.
1. Recipient demographics e.g. gender, ethnicity, age at transplantation, renal disease, renal replacement therapy history
2. Donor demographics e.g. gender, ethnicity, age at donation, cause of death (where applicable)
3. Transplant information e.g. surgical details, immunological matching, immunosuppression, early complications
4. Long term outcomes e.g. development of complications, date and aetiology of transplant failure, clinical and laboratory parameters at transplant failure, subsequent renal replacement therapy, date and cause of deathResearch programme
