Research summary
There are currently very few qualitative studies that address the effects of the pandemic on employees’ lived experiences. The appropriate support mechanisms that could meet their needs both during and after the pandemic may become clearer with further studies that examine the lived experiences of personnel during the pandemic. It for this reason that this qualitative research has been proposed.
The aim of the research is to investigate what is the effect of the covid pandemic on staff (in terms of its impact on their work, health and social lives) and what are the relevant support systems that are needed to mitigate the impact?
The study will be conducted within the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales. Eligible staff groups include doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants who have worked on the covid wards since March 2020 but prior to March 2021. Staff who are interested in taking part will attend one interview with the Chief Investigator. Data will be collected via an unstructured interview. Data will be analysed using thematic analysis.REC name
