Research summary
This study will explore the perceptions of the advanced paediatric nurse practitioner role in NHS Scotland. This role is relatively new and there is currently no research in Scotland on this topic. The study aims to understand this role from the point of view of NHS staff that are currently in this role, their colleagues and from parents whose child has been treated by one of these practitioners. This will be done through the use of individual interviews which will enable the recorded dialogue to be studied and thereby a mutual understanding between researcher and participant to be developed.
