Research summary
PURPOSE OF THE STUDYIn this study we would like to achieve optimal levels of testosterone in the blood of young women with pituitary problem, by using two different doses of testosterone gel, delivered through a new delivery device. We would also like to assess the effect of this treatment on their sexual function, general well being and psychological well being.DESIGNThis is a randomised, double blind, placebo controlled, cross over trial. METHODOLOGY AND SEQUENCE OF EVENTS PLANNEDRecruitment: Patients identified from case notes or clinic consultation by the treating team as potentially eligible for the trial will be sent/given a patient information sheet. We intend to recruit a total of 12 patients.
