Data collection arrangements
The SYNAPSE Database will collect and store patient-reported outcome measures related to common conditions and injuries seen by the Peripheral Nerve team. It will utilise pre-existing, validated questionnaires and the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) systems to remotely collect these outcome measures for review by the treating clinician.
Alongside this, condition and demographic data will be aggregated from clinical systems to create a complete dataset which can be utilised for the purposes of treatment evaluation, service improvement, audit and research.
Research programme
The data collected through the SYNAPSE database will serve to aid in the continued development of the Peripheral Nerve injury service at UHB. It will provide a framework for continued treatment evaluation, service improvement, and audit. It will facilitate feasibility studies which will in term inform the development of future research projects.
