Research summary
Activation of the cGAS-STING signalling results in production of interferon, a potent immunostimulatory molecule that can help the immune system fight against tumours. As such, there are some drugs that look to activate this pathway. We do not have a biomarker to inform which patients are more likely to respond to these type of drugs. This study will analyse tumour samples from patients treated with STING agonists to try to associate the efficacy of the drug with expression of specific molecules in the tumours.
