Research summary
We are investigating how rates of sexual activity, sexual function and impact on quality of life change with increasing age in women attending Urogynaecology clinic. We will be conducting a retrospective review of women who have consented to their data being used for research when completing an online questionnaire prior to routine review in urogynaecology clinic. This is a routine questionnaire that all women referred to the service will complete and as part of this questionnaire we routinely ask for consent for anonymised data to be used in future research studies. The centres participating in the study will be throughout the United Kingdom and the purpose of the study is to establish baseline data of normal sexual function in women over the age of 60 in order to better understand how to manage and treat sexual disorders in later life.
