Research summary
The study is looking to find out how many people living with HIV (PLWH) have been infected with SARS-CoV2 through the detection of specific antibodies (via a blood test).
The presence of these antibodies is a marker of whether PLWH have been infected before and will help us better understand whether living with HIV puts people at a high risk of becoming infected with SARS-CoV2 compared to the general population, and which other factors of characteristics may affect this risk. This will help us identify who may be more at risk of getting COVID-19 in the future and will help us plan for when a COVID-19 vaccine eventually becomes available.
