Research summary
This project will look at hip replacement X-rays and information about the patients in order to investigate whether there are certain factors that make it more likely that breaks (fractures) around a hip replacement will occur.
We will collect information on the implant type, size and alignment as well as length and quality of the bone cement. As well as adding to the literature with the outcomes under investigation, it may be that this research will help us identify changes in the way we carry out hip replacements which could reduce the risk of femur fractures for future patients.
