Research summary
The study involves adult patients with Cystic fibrosis, who are known to have impaired glucose tolerance and hyperglycaemia due to insulin deficiency caused by progressive pancreatic destruction, the pathognomonic feature in this condition. We intend to administer Insulin (Levemir) to these individuals and study their physiological (pancreatic) responses to it after a 2 week period. Insulin is an indicated treatment for hyperglycaemia.
