  • Data collection arrangements

    All human biological samples and relevant data will be stored within one of three physical Medimmune Cambridge Tissue Banks;
    Medimmune Cambridge Pathology Human Tissue Bank (solid tissue samples e.g. FFPE blocks) & Database
    Medimmune Cambridge RMS HTA Human Tissue Bank (non-solid tissue e.g. PBMC) and RMS Database
    Medimmune Translational Sciences Sample Bank and Database (Plasma and Serum)

    Prior to receipt of any samples, Medimmune will request from the provider evidence of the informed consent (review of a consent template) and any relevant ethical approval statement covering this collection at the providers source, and will be review and approved, if compliant with the AstraZeneca HBS Standard and policies. The actual consent forms relevant to any sample will be held by the provider of the tissue to Medimmune.

  • Research programme

    The research aim is to use samples stored in the MedImmune Biobank to aid the discovery and development of new drugs to benefit patients across the entire MedImmune disease portfolio including but not limited to Oncology, Respiratory, Inflammatory, Autoimmunity, Neurology, Cardiovascular and Metabolic diseases by Medimmune, AstraZeneca scientists or collaborating Scientists where there is a legal contract (Material Transfer Agreement) in place defining the research project to be undertaken
