• Data collection arrangements

  DNA from 5,077 volunteers is stored at the Genetics Core, Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. It was collected in 2008 from residual blood from consenting blood donors in Scotland, and is fully anonymised.

• Research programme

  The DNA samples are fully anonymised, with minimal phenotype data (age, sex, area of brth). It can be used by researchers as a control cohort for the general Scottish population.
