Research summary
This research aims to develop a robust method to identify and isolate circulating rare cells from the whole blood for future diagnostic purposes. We are aiming but not limited to isolating foetal nucleated red blood cells (fNRBCs), cancer stem cells (CTCs) and rare immune system cells. While developing new techniques and technologies to isolate these cells, we will test our progress through various experiments using human primary cells, human blood and human cord blood. These samples will be used entirely for research purposes.
