  • Research summary

    AIMS
To validate detection of COVID-19 infection using a 6-lead ECG recording from the AliveCor Kardia device, interpreted by an artificial intelligence algorithm (POC-AI-ECG), compared to the gold-standard investigation for detecting COVID-19 by polymerase chain reaction test via a nose and throat swab (PCR)

    METHODS
Head-to-head comparison of POC-AI-ECG against the gold standard investigation, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detecting COVID-19 infection, in an unselected hospital inpatient population undergoing routine screening by PCR.

    OUTCOME MEASURES
Primary: Sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic accuracy of POC-AI-ECG as compared to PCR for COVID-19
