Research summary
This study will explore the unmet needs of diabetes technologies to adults with type 1 diabetes.
Focus groups with pwT1D and family members and friends of those with type 1 diabetes will be conducted. Semi-structured in-depth interviews will be conducted with pwT1D. Focus groups and interviews will be audio recorded and analysed.
It is envisaged that outputs of this study will provide a better understanding of factors contributing to low-technology adoption in T1D and altered effectiveness of diabetes technologies in T1D. We also hope outcomes will aid in bettering the understanding of attitudes, beliefs and perceptions of pwT1D and friends and family of those with T1D with regards diabetes technologies and alternative therapies in T1D.
