Research summary
This qualitative study aims to evaluate how the Exeter Model of Couples Therapy for depression enables couples to explore past attachment styles in relationships and how such attachment styles are maintaining current unhelpful cycles of relating in the present relationship. The study is using retrospective data of historic treatment sessions which were recorded and will be analysing this data using a qualitative analysis method. The data has already been collected and consent forms were signed by participants giving permission for the recordings to be used for research and training purposes.
