Research summary
This study is aimed at identifying the prevalence of positive COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) PCR test among pregnant women at Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. We aim to offer the test to all women presenting acutely to our maternity units over a 4 week period. We aim to test 400 symptomatic and asymptomatic pregnant women who attend labour ward, maternity triage and assessments units.\n\nAs a secondary outcome, we will evaluate the acceptance of screening for COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) PCR test by pregnant women of universal screening; should it become a future requirement by Public Health England.
