  • Research summary

It is common practice to fit patients who have a symmetrical hearing loss with 2 hearing aids. Research however has shown that roughly 10% of the elderly population suffer from Binaural interference, a phenomenon where by the information from 2 hearing aids causes poorer speech discrimination compared to the use of one hearing aid alone. One test used to identify the presence of binaural interference is the dichotic digit test (DDT). This Study aims to investigate the accuracy of this test in identifying the presence of Binaural interference by comparing the results to our own speech in noise test and participants experiences in different listening environments. \n
