2.1 Research objectives: phase 1
To investigate the utility of hospital based episode data to inform modeling.
2.2 Research objectives: phase 2
Develop a predictive model to:
a. Test the sensitivity and specificity of using ED attendances or hospital admission to predict subsequent alcohol-related disease and/or harms.
2.3 Research objectives: phase 3
b. To enable more effective targeting of early intervention strategies.
c. Establish the potential health benefits associated with improved targeting based on ED attendance or hospital admission.
d. Establish the potential resource savings associated with improved targeting based on ED attendance or hospital admission.
