Research summary
It is not known how patients with pre-existing cardiovascular (heart) disease manage their recovery following critical illness. This study aims to explore the experiences and views of Intensive Care survivors and their relatives. This data will be captured through in-depth telephone interviews and will take place between 4- and 16-weeks following discharge home from acute hospitalisation. Participants will be recruited form three sites in NHS Lothian.
