• Research summary

  The adequacy of post-operative pain relief and quality of recovery of patients at home after day surgery (i.e. discharge home on the day of surgery) in Tayside is currently unknown. By identifying any difficulties or problems with pain relief or other aspects of recovery at home, we would hope to improve the post-operative care for these patients.
  We plan to conduct a prospective study using questionnaire to identify any problems with patient's pain relief and quality of recovery at home after day case surgery.
  The study will only be for patients undergoing day surgery
