    The aim of this project is to identify patients at risk for developing CVD through a community pharmacy managed screening programme from a local population of both men and women > 18 years in Portglenone and to evaluate the outcomes of participants who have have been identified with risk factors for developing CVD
    A sample of a maximum of 100 patients will be enrolled on the programme. Participants will be recruited to the programme through a press release by the local Portglenone Enterprise Group and through the local newspaper. GP details will be recorded for each participant and consent gained for access to their medical records should they be referred on to their GP as a result of detection of elevated parameters such as Blood Pressure (BP), Total cholesterol (TC), High Density Lipoproteins (HDL) and non-fasting blood glucose (BG) - If the BG is found to be > 6mmol/l the patient will be asked to return and retested after fasting . 6mmol/l).
