Research summary
PIONEER is an EU IMI funded project on prostate cancer big data (https://prostate-pioneer.eu/), a consortium of 34 partners coordinated by the European Association of Urology (EAU) Guidelines Office (https://uroweb.org/guidelines/about/). We have 87 datasets in the pipeline being onboarded. The consortium agreed to pursue electronic health record (EHR) interfacing and incorporation of EHR data to answer prioritised research questions. \n\nIn stage 1, data of patients with prostate cancer from the Grampian region will be linked up with the PIONEER using federated model (current application). Data will only be access via the Grampian Data Safe Haven (DaSH), and only pseudonymised data will be accessed by approved researchers. The Aberdeen EHR prostate cancer data will be converted into the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM) format for the purpose of enabling transparent, reproducible research across multiple prostate cancer data sets available across the network as enabled by the IMI PIONEER initiative.
