  • Research summary

The aim of this research is to conduct a large scale assessment study using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) profile and the Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ) scores in the Reception year at school to earlier identify neurodevelopmental disorders, earlier access to intervention and reduce inequity in provision of assessment. This will be established by screening the 'at risk' of neurodevelopmental disorder population based on results from the EYFS profile using the SCQ scores with the view to provide a quicker pathway for children with neurdevelopmental disorders to be identified as early as possible. We aim to identify the 'at risk' population and provide earlier assessment, diagnosis and intervention as part of Regional and National efforts to deal with the wider consequences of covid-19 for vulnerable children.
