Research summary
A qualitative study, following an interpretive phenomenological approach, to explore barriers and facilitators to physiotherapy care experienced by those with mental illness. This will involve one to one interviews with service users to obtain in depth perceptions and experiences on the topic as well as focus groups with physiotherapists and qualitative questionnaires for carers. Data led, thematic analysis (using a rigorous, systematic reading and coding of transcripts) will be undertaken to identify emerging themes.
