Research summary
Do patients feel fully involved in the decisions made about their treatment and care when they are in hospital? This study aims to describe the experience of patients who have been transferred from an acute care hospital for further rehabilitation prior to returning to live in the community. Three participants currently receiving rehabilitation will take part in a one-off semi-structured interview.By looking at these experiences,the study will identify factors that enhance patient participation, empowerment and engagement in the decision-making process, and promote professional best practice during the transition of care.
