  • Research summary

The study aims to assess outcomes of parotid surgery. Its primary objective is patient subjective analysis of the functional and aesthetic outcome of parotidectomies using the FACE-Q (a validated patient reported outcome- PRO scale). A secondary objective is analysis of the volume of the parotid gland to guide reconstructive surgery in patients with parotid tumours. The study hypothesis is patients without reconstruction after parotidectomy have long term facial issues with function and appearance that are both under treated and under reported. It is a prospective cohort study recruiting 50 patients with time to completion 2 years.
