  • Research summary

People with Parkinson's will experience resting tremor, rigidity and bradykinesia. In addition to this, the postural instability and Freezing of Gait (FoG) experienced are risk factors for falls. Path Finder is a shoe attachment containing a laser which projects visual cues onto the floor to guide people with unsteady and irregular gait. This can be helpful to people who commonly suffer from Freezing of Gait (FoG), a symptom causing an individual to feel as if frozen to the ground. Thus far this has been studied in a lab environment but not yet in a real life environment and see if it reduces falls and is acceptable in its usage. This study will aim to recruit approx. 40 patients for a 3 months observation followed by 6 months of intervention
