Research summary
To ascertain whether a tooth pulp (the tooth's nerve and blood supply) that has suffered a complicated crown fracture (a fracture of a tooth which includes the enamel, dentine and pulp) and was treated can retain its vitality (preservation of pulpal blood flow) and if any secondary events have occurred, determined by reviewing clinical and radiographic patient records.
Data will be retrospectively collected from patients who have sustained a crown fracture that presented and was managed at the King’s College Dental Hospital (KCH) Adult Dental Trauma Clinic. The patients will be identified from the department database and the notes and radiographs will be reviewed by a clinician.
Data collection will include non-identifiable patient information as gender and age, history of the trauma, type/site of tooth, size of trauma, what material was used to treat the injury and the follow up information.
