Research summary
We aim to explore the mental health of the parents and caregivers of the children attending the CAMHS (Child and Adolescent mental health service) in The Elms Centre, Dudley.
Specifically, we will assess levels of anxiety, depression, substance use (nicotine, alcohol, other drugs); psychological stress, levels of functioning, coping mechanisms, and quality of life, as reported by the parents/caregivers. We will also ascertain whether they have any established psychiatric diagnoses and received any intervention or support for their mental health issues.
It is expected that based on the findings we will suggest appropriate support services / pathways for the parents who are having mental health issues.REC name
