  • Research summary

Improving and sustaining mental wellbeing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic is of critical importance. Given the scale, nature and costs of the problem, digital interventions are the ideal tool to support the global population. Digital tools developed in the past have had some success initially as only ~30% of people continue to use these interventions after a few weeks, largely due to lack of personalisation. Therefore, it is imperative to develop tools that are sustainable to use for participants of all ages. With this in mind, we have developed a free digital platform to deliver interventions that improve mental wellbeing: physical activity and mindfulness.

The PAIDEIA study aims to provide interventions recommendations informed by expert advice to explore participant engagement with the digital interventions and the impact on their mental wellbeing. The study will recruit 2000 participants. These participants will be from two primary groups that are particularly affected by COVID-19: healthcare professionals and university students. The study will be delivered digitally.
