  • Research summary

To support future research where acute respiratory infections need to be identified, this study seeks to adapt an existing non-invasive method for measuring SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) in saliva samples, to detect a range of other respiratory infections (e.g., influenza viruses and respiratory syncytial virus). To do this we are seeking to collect, non-invasively, saliva samples from adults who present in primary care with acute respiratory infection symptoms (e.g., cough, sore throat) to provide us with the material to optimise this new method.
