Research summary
This project is based on the flagging performance of the Sysmex XN-20 analyser, which works by doing a reflex test on samples that have flagged up for blasts/abnormal lymphocytes on the Sysmex XN-10 analyser. The XN-20 uses the White cell precursor channel to separate the flags that are produced on XN-10 into blast cells or abnormal lymphocytes. The samples are also examined under the microscope to know if the blast cells or abnormal lymphocytes flags are true positive or false positive. At the end of this project, it is hoped that there will be reduction in the amount of blood film examinations being done in the laboratory at Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT).
