Data collection arrangements
The data to be stored includes the health and care records of the GP registered population for Cheshire and Merseyside. It also includes the service users of the health and care providers within the Cheshire and Merseyside geography. The data stored for the purpose of research does not contain any information that identifies a person e.g. name, address, date of birth or NHS number.
Research programme
he overarching purpose for data sharing is to support the Cheshire and Merseyside use of Secure Data Environments (SDEs), which are secure spaces for researchers to access de-identified sensitive data sets, and enables them to do data driven research, utilising the knowledge, techniques, and experience of academics to improve health. It will give researchers access to the information, which is necessary, proportionate, and relevant to their role.
